GreenPeak Technologies is a fabless semiconductor company enabling the third wave of wireless data communication through sense and control networks that are easy to install and require little effort to maintain. The first two waves of wireless are cell phones and wireless networks. The third wave is the “Internet of Things” – connecting machines to other machines.

The Third Wireless Wave
Sense and control networks differ from telephone or internet networks in supporting many small nodes. Contrary to a user being very aware about his/her cellular phone or laptop computer, users in general need to be totally unaware of the nodes of wireless sense and control networks, requiring the concept of “install and forget”.

Therefore, GreenPeak’s mission is to enable our customers to build networks that are:

• Reliable and easy to install by using our:
  • wireless transceiver semiconductor technology and/or
  • self forming/self healing networking protocols
• Easy to maintain while consuming very little energy:
• that battery life time exceeds the product life time
• and/or that energy harvesters eliminate the need of batteries

Our networks are based upon robust radio transceivers with reliable software that can be easily integrated with our customer’s applications, both from hardware and software perspective to enable a quick time to market. Our supporting material is of the highest standards and easy to understand and use.
We are fully committed to open industry and communication standards, as these are an essential in enabling the easy usage and proliferation of communication products. We are very aware that our chips and software form an essential part of our customers’ products. Customers expect their products to function error free, straight out of the box and over its full lifetime. It is our mission to make sure that our customers can meet these requirements in a cost effective way.

GreenPeak’s mission is to be a leader in the next wireless revolution and to help building a greener world. Copper has become a rare good and makes cabling expensive and the ever increasing usage of batteries holds an ecological threat. By eliminating both in GreenPeak’s low power wireless sensor networks, GreenPeak helps to maintain an ecological balance, live within the resource limits of our planet and move to a more energy efficient economy.

One specific area of attention is energy technology for sensor nodes: its generation (energy harvesting), storage and effective usage.
